JON BARKER

Jon Barker joins the Boathouse Group as a consultant on Corporate Identity and Interior Architecture. Following 20 years of professional experience at a senior level he left his position as Creative Director at Landor, and in 2012 joined forces with Greg Place to create new hotel brands worldwide. Jon helps define the identity and character of brands, and develops the  positioning, brand standards and design brief to inform the development process.

GREG PLACE

Greg is the Boathouse Group’s  Hotel Pre-opening and Turn-key Management consultant. Following 25 years' experience at a senior level in both operational leadership and development within the hotel and leisure sector, he has assisted developers and investors in developing and launching some of the most successful hotels in the UK. Greg Place is an expert at planning and delivering the numerous and intricate steps leading up to a successful hotel opening.  

DES MCDONALD

Joining The Ivy as Head Chef in 1992 Des worked his way up to the CEO role where he oversaw the whole group, including such names as The Ivy, Scott’s, J Sheekey and the Oyster Bar, as well as Le Caprice and its latest venture 34, other companies within the group also included the Birley Group, with Annabel’s and Harry’s Bar, also the Soho House Group. From 2008, Des secured deals in the Middle East and America to develop the group’s brands outside of the UK.

MATT ALLCHURCH

Matt has a wide range of architectural experience and is the Boathouse Group's Architect specialising in all aspects of planning, architecture and design.

Matt is a strong concept architect, with an excellent track record in gaining planning permissions. Extensive experience in working with listed buildings, in conservation areas, green belt and on sensitive sites. Experienced in engagement through public consultations, exhibitions and workshops

VAL PETRUSHECHKIN 

Russian born Val joined Matt Allchurch in April 2011. He studied architecture in the US and UK and graduated from the AA School of Architecture. Since then, he has worked in Switzerland and the UK for a number of award winning practices. His job running experience ranges from bespoke residential to high spec office and commercial.

RICHARD BROOME

Richard is an award winning urbanist with over twenty years of experience of working in Britain, France and Portugal. Richard was lead designer for Walthamstow Town Square and Gardens, winning the RTPI 2004 Mayor’s Award for Planning Excellence. He has worked at a range of scales and has helped masterplan key city centre projects such as Paradise Street in Liverpool and the New Retail Quarter in Sheffield. Since then he has taken this experience to form an innovative approach to the place making process, balancing sustainability and creativity with the aim of achieving a sense of belonging and uniqueness in all
